We
wanted to go to Mt Rushmore one last time before we headed to Devil’s tower.
Our check out time was 11 so we could fit one more hike in. The Presidents
trail at Mt Rushmore. The trail brought us closer to the monument and ended
with a stop at the sculptor’s studio. Through the movie and studio you learn
more about the artist that created this beautiful piece of art that's now the legend. This
man Gutson Borglum looked at these rocks and saw a vision of four presidents
carved in the mountain and how he accomplished it totally AMAZING.

Now
on to the Devil’s Tower, but wait we can't go through Sturgis without stopping to
say we been there, of course we are early for Bike week but that’s ok Steve got
a t-shirt to say he was there.
After
getting settled into the campground with a great close up view of the Devil’s
Tower and only 3 miles and a clear view (felt like we needed to watch “Close
Encounter’s of the third kind”) we took a ride in to the park and got our
bearings and called it a day.
Of course on the way back to our campsite we found another prairie town. I just love watching these guys, they are so cute and entertaining.
Had a lot of thunder and lighting all around Devil’s tower that night got hit with some bad rain and thunder that would wake you right up. Storms are loud and violent out here.
Sunset from our campground. Good Night.
