The dirty road and Wind Cave NP

Today was going to be over a 100 degrees too hot for hiking but how about caving?? I think that a great idea, nice and cool at about 49 degrees. Lets do it. So off we head at 5:45 AM why, because cave tours are sold out early so be there at 8 if you want a chance. So off we go we were over 2 hours away. Plugged in the address to the GPS and away we go. Not to long after leaving we hit dirt road, ok not too bad should not be too long.

Well WRONG.We went about 20 miles
 Then another 20 miles
 some more
Oh wait a town should get off these dirt roads now NOPE the town of Buffalo Gap all the streets are dirt too. Interesting but dirt.

We get to Wind Cave National Park at 7:45 and guess what ? We are not the only ones for sure there are about 20 people already standing in line. hummmm hope we can get the tour we want. Since it not the easy one (yes of course I did not pick the easy one BUT I did not pick the hardest, that one was crawling and squeezing no not up for that. So the doors open at 8 and we wait our turn okay did we make it. "2 tickets for the natural entrance tour please. okay that will be $24" yes we made the first tour at 8:20.
This tour is 2/3 mile and 300 stairs. moderate/strenuous walking. Nice cave and good tour

After the cave tour we decided to check out the town of Custer and get a bite to eat. Tripadvisor help us pick out lunch. They did a good job. Our pick was Black Hills Burger and Bun. OMG Delish. Fresh ground buffalo burger and fresh baked buns. We couldn't decide so we picked two and went with the Hot Granny (Bacon, cream cheese, fresh fried jalapenos, and hot granny sauce and sweet and spicy jalapeno jam).  The best choice then second runner up was the Texan (pepper jack cheese, grilled onions and jalapenos, bacon, and chipolte BBQ sauce.

We walked around the Quaint little town of Custer.

After that we decided to check out Custer State Park. We rode through what was call Wildlife scenic trail. As we rode through we were able to see a Buffalo herd, burros, and Antelope.

After heading back to the campground we had a beautiful sunset which would end our time at the Badlands.
